【重點(diǎn)難點(diǎn)解析】

1. It's quite a nice elephant. =It's a very nice elephant.

它是一匹相當漂亮的大象。

以名詞為中心的詞組有冠詞、形容詞時(shí),quite放在冠詞之前,而very放在冠詞之后,即:“quite a/an+形容詞+名詞”和“a very+形容詞+名詞”。如:

①That is quite an interesting film. 那是一部相當有趣的電影。

②It's a very easy question. 它是一道很簡(jiǎn)單的題。

2. At this time, the man downstairs was trying to sleep. 這時(shí),樓下的人正試圖睡著(zhù)。

1. 過(guò)去進(jìn)行時(shí)態(tài)The Past Continuous Tense

(1)過(guò)去進(jìn)行時(shí)態(tài)的謂語(yǔ)由“was(were)+現在分詞”構成,其肯定式、否定式和疑問(wèn)式如下:

①過(guò)去進(jìn)行時(shí)表示過(guò)去某一時(shí)刻或某段時(shí)間內正在進(jìn)行的動(dòng)作。這一特定的過(guò)去時(shí)間,往往有一定時(shí)刻或一段時(shí)間的時(shí)間狀語(yǔ),或者有一定的上下文來(lái)表示。例如:

They were having a football match from three to five yesterday afternoon. 昨天下午三點(diǎn)到五點(diǎn)他們正在進(jìn)行足球比賽。

At seven this morning I was listening to the radio.

(2)try one's best to do sth. =do one's best to do sth. 盡全力做某事。

at noon 在中午=at twelve o'clock=in the middle of the day.

be fed up with… 對…感到不高興,厭煩
