1．certain 的用法

certain adj．一定的；必然的；確信的；有把握的。例如：

①I(mǎi) am certain to be successful. 我一定會(huì )成功。

②We are certain of winning the game.

比賽中我們有把握能夠獲勝。

③I'm certain that he will come to the party in time.

我確信他會(huì )及時(shí)來(lái)參加晚會(huì )的。

④I am not certain whether she will come or not.

我沒(méi)有把握她是否來(lái)。

【注意】certain 還可以用作定語(yǔ)，表示“某一；某種；一定的”的意思。

例如：

⑤A certain comrade is waiting for you at the school gate.

2．control 的用法

3．majority

1)majority 作名詞，意為“多數，大半”解。

①The company hold a majority of the stock.

該公司擁有半數以上的股份。

②The majority will go to him. 多數人會(huì )投他的票。

③He was elected by a majority of 120 against 70.

他以120票對70票的多數當選。

2)當用作主語(yǔ)時(shí)，要注意主謂一致的問(wèn)題。一般由of后的名詞決定

①The majority of doctors believe smoking is harmful to health.
